Honda CB750 Cafe Racer Project Bike | Barn Find Bargain Unfinished Motorcycle Build | 01 In this episode I buy another Honda CB750 project bike. I was looking for cafe racer parts to modify my previous project bike when I saw this unfinished CB750 cafe racer build. Motorcycle folding loading ramp: https://ebay.us/PB0rGm I’ll be honest, this isn’t really a Barn Find, but it does meet a lot of the factors that others class as a barn find :) It was abandoned, it would have stayed abandoned if outside circumstances hadn’t changed, anyway aren’t garages the modern equivalent of a barn! I have been looking for parts to make my previous CB750 project bike into a Cafe Racer. Here’s a link to my previous Honda CB750 project playlist: • Honda CB750K "Bitsa" Rebuild Project I always browse through project bikes when I spotted this one. It was an abandoned project and it did say “Project - restore or parts”. In the text of the listing it itemised a lot of parts that were very attractive for my project, but it left the impression that overall it would need a lot of engine work, and the tank and seat styling wouldn’t be to everybody's taste. I really didn’t expect to buy it. I totted up the cost of the parts it listed that I would find useful, and decided that I would bid up to 2/3rds of that. The parts I wanted rarely come up second hand, and when they do they make nearly new prices. Another factor was that the auction was up on a Monday, mid afternoon, which really isn’t a good time for a lot of people to bid. When the time came I put in my maximum bid, and to my surprise I won the auction comfortably underneath what I expected. I really expected that somebody else would be bidding and it would go for more than I was willing to pay, so I was a little surprised. I felt I was buying the parts for my project bike, with some additional SOHC parts that I may be able to sell on. When I talked to the seller on the phone, I realised I had done better than I thought. It was a project that he had put a lot of time and money into, but just at the point he was getting the bike running he moved home, possibly through his work, and ended up putting his project in the back of a relatives garage, where due to one thing and another it stayed for over 5 years. It would probably have stayed there for longer if the relative hadn’t asked him to clear the things out of their garage. He did say that he hadn’t been able to get the engine running, but that he had run out of time when he put the bike in storage. It wasn’t that he had found a big problem at the time. When I collected the bike, I was even more pleased with what I found. It was well worth the long journey (in my opinion) to collect it. Watch the video and see what I got.
