​THE TIDE ALMOST TOOK OUR RODS! 🌊 Sea Fishing Workington (The Welly Mackerel Incident)

​In today's episode of The Wild Life of John's, me and Carl head down to Workington to try our luck on the rough shingle (shilly) beach to the left of the pier. It was a proper battle against the elements from the get-go! ​Within the first 10 minutes, the Solway Firth decided to claim my wellies, and we nearly lost the rods to the tide! Big thanks to Carl for having MY waders on and jumping in for the save. ​What’s in this video: ​-The "Welly Fish" Skit: A lesson on why waders are essential... with a mackerel surprise. ​-Beach Cooking: We fire up the camping stove for some cheeseburgers on the shingle before the tide pushed us back. ​-The Retreat: After the rough beach gave us no luck, we made the excellent call to retreat to the pier. ​-The Gear: Carl debuts his new fishing boonie hat and chest pouch. ​-The Pickle Challenge: We try a "Sour Sissy Pickle" in a pouch... it was rough! ​-The Catch: The move paid off! Once we got onto the pier, we finally got into the fish, catching a Rockling and a few crabs. ​ It was a day of near-disasters and great laughs.
