Society of Northern Alberta Print-Artists (SNAP) & Alberta Printmakers (A/P) in conjunction with Alberta Culture Days Present Prairie Impressions Part 2: Printmaking Demonstrations & Tutorials Enjoy this behind-the-scenes monotype printmaking demonstrations that feature SNAP facilities before seeing a hands-on ways to achieve similar results by printing from home. All ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate and learn from professional artists who will take you through the steps of printing before showing you how to adjust the techniques and materials to successfully print at home. The ‘at-home’ portion of each demonstration will touch on child-friendly techniques and will use a range of supplies that are readily available and accessible. A supply list for each demonstration will be provided if participants would like to print at home. James Boychuk-Hunter is an artist working in printmaking, drawing and sculpture. He has an MFA from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville and a BFA from the University of Alberta. He has exhibited in the United States and Canada as well as in Poland and China. James has received numerous grants and awards including, a 2019 Boston Printmakers North American Biennial Purchase Prize, first place at the “CLIP: An International Exhibition of Works on Paper” exhibition, visual arts production grants from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, as well as numerous scholarships. James is currently a sessional faculty member in the print media department at The Alberta University of the Arts, (AU Arts), and is a member of the Board of Directors at Alberta Printmakers (artist run centre) in Calgary Alberta. www.jamespbhunter.com
