K Sudhakaran Ends Hunger Stir | Mathrubhumi News

Kannur: Congress leader K Sudhakaran ended his hunger strike in Kannur in connection with the murder of Youth Congress leader Shuhaib. The hunger strike was organized with several demands including a CBI probe into the murder and arrest all accused in the case. But chief minister PInarayi Vijayan had the other day announced in the Assembly that no CBI probe would be initiated into Shuhaib murder as the police investigation is proceeding in the right direction. After the CM’s announcement, the UDF informed that it would take over the stir and hence Sudhakaran decided to end the stir as desired by the UDF Front.The hunger strike which entered the 9th day was withdrawn by offering lemon juice by former chief minister Oommen Chandy. Expressing solidarity to the protest, the family members of Shuhaib also reached the venue of the strike. Congress leaders Thenala Balakrishnapilla, Vayalar Ravi also reached the venue. In a plea filed by Shuhaib’s father Muhammed, the CBI will file an explanation next week.
