CΓ©dric & Jon Murua Stockhorn - MΓΌlloch Date: 26.11.2022 M3, M5, M5, M2, M2, M4 2,190m Transcript: Stockhorn is a popular mountain for mixed climbing in the Bernese Alps. It is not very high, just over 2 thousand meters high, but it offers some delicate limestone, which is perfect to train for bigger routes, like the Eiger. The access is straight forward. A cable car takes us all the way to the top and the approach is a simple walk around the mountain to reach the North Face. On the contrary to the ease of the approach, the climbing is pretty hard. The easy pitches have long runouts and when the turf is not fully frozen, it can be scary. There are 2 M5 pitches, both pretty technical. The second M5 is the crux that goes through a narrow gully and exists through a beautifu roof. And this is when... We crossed a team that was climbing the route "Tschabold". We decided to follow them, but there is also the option to continue straight up through the route "mottes au neige", which is harder. The last pitch was supposed to be an easy M4, but as you can see, I struggled on this delicate terrain. Further up, I couldn't find any protection and it became a mental battle with a potential fall to the anchor.
