🎬 Jodorowsky’s Dune: Part 1 – Museum of Humanity | The Lost Opening Scene Before Star Wars, before Blade Runner, there was Jodorowsky’s Dune — a film that never happened, yet changed cinema forever. In this episode, we explore the mysterious “Museum of Humanity” sequence, the surreal opening from Alejandro Jodorowsky’s unrealized Dune, reconstructed from the recently uncovered 2015–2018 scripts and original Moebius storyboards. 🌌 The opening that was never filmed According to Jodorowsky’s early screenplay, the movie was set to begin not on Arrakis, but with a cosmic journey through the galaxy, following a spacecraft all the way to Kaitain, the golden planet of the Emperor. Inside the lifeless imperial city, Dog-Beings descend from the ship, entering a vast hall known as the Museum of Man. There they discover a giant crucified robot, which, once activated, projects the entire history of humanity through its eyes — beginning with the explosion of Earth itself. It’s a vision completely detached from Frank Herbert’s original novel, but deeply consistent with Jodorowsky’s spiritual surrealism and Moebius’ visionary artwork. Some of the 1975 French press kit storyboards even show fragments of this sequence — a glimpse of what could have been the most ambitious opening in science fiction history. 🧾 The mystery of the lost script In March 2015, an alleged early draft of Dune written by Jodorowsky appeared on eBay. The director himself dismissed it, writing on Twitter: “Es un falso guión con un dibujo idiota.” (“It is a fake script with an idiot drawing.”) However, in August 2018, verified copies of Jodorowsky’s Dune were sent to backers of his Psychomagic: An Art That Heals campaign on Ulule — and the text was almost identical to the so-called “fake” script. Two scenes were missing, and explicit sexual content had been toned down or removed, but its structure confirmed the authenticity of the mysterious screenplay. This film delves into that version — comparing its tone, structure, and imagery with what is known from the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune (2013), the Moebius and Giger concept art, and later adaptations by David Lynch and John Harrison. 🪶 In this series Over the next chapters, we’ll explore the key differences between Jodorowsky’s script and Frank Herbert’s original vision, from the spiritual reinterpretation of Paul Atreides to the cosmic myth of Arrakis. Every video reconstructs a lost fragment — scenes, designs, and philosophies that could have reshaped the entire genre of science fiction. 🔖 Keywords / SEO tags Jodorowsky’s Dune, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Moebius Dune, HR Giger Dune, Jodorowsky Dune script, Museum of Humanity, Jodorowsky Dune opening, Kaitain, Dog Beings Dune, fake Jodorowsky script, Psychomagic Ulule, lost Dune movie, unmade films, Dune analysis, Dune explained, Dune lore, Frank Herbert, David Lynch Dune, John Harrison Dune, unfilmed science fiction, lost cinema projects, Dune 1975, Dune storyboard, Alejandro Jodorowsky Dune analysis 🏷️ Hashtags #JodorowskysDune #AlejandroJodorowsky #Moebius #Dune #FrankHerbert #LostCinema #UnmadeFilms #SciFiHistory #MuseumOfHumanity #DuneLore #DuneExplained #Usul #StoriesUntold
