Ketchikan came alive! Bears, eagles, salmon, and history on Holland America’s Great Bear Rainforest Cruise — plus a whale right by the ship! 🐻🦅🐋 Day 3 of our Great Bear Rainforest Cruise takes us to Ketchikan, Alaska — the salmon capital of the world and gateway to the Tongass National Forest. We started the morning docked under blue skies (yes, somehow no rain again), grabbed breakfast and coffee, then set off to explore one of the most charming ports in Alaska. Our day took us from waterfalls on Powerhouse Road to Saxman Village, where we got to see bald eagles, salmon, and a mama black bear with her two cubs — a total bucket list moment. We explored Saxman Totem Park, learned about the stories carved into cedar poles, and visited the carving shed where artists keep traditions alive. Back in town, we walked Creek Street, learned the wild history of Dolly’s House, climbed Married Man’s Trail, and checked out the original Salmon Ladder built in the 1930s to help fish reach their spawning grounds. We even caught an unexpected whale bubble-feeding right next to the ship — talk about lucky timing! The day wrapped up with dinner at Pinnacle Grill, a hilarious juggling act called “Flight Risks,” and the always-fun Majority Rules game show. From wildlife to history to total spontaneity, Ketchikan delivered everything we hoped for (and more). Next stop: Prince Rupert, British Columbia — another first for Holland America’s new Great Bear Rainforest route. 💡 ABOUT THIS VIDEO We’re Steph and Rick, a married couple of 25+ years, exploring the world one cruise at a time. This is Episode 3 of our Great Bear Rainforest Cruise series aboard Holland America’s Noordam. We keep it real, funny, and full of moments that remind you why travel is worth it — the surprises, the laughs, and the “oh my god” moments that catch you off guard. #StephAndRickUnpacked #HollandAmerica #GreatBearRainforest #Ketchikan #AlaskaCruise #Noordam #CreekStreet #DollysHouse #SaxmanTotemPark #SalmonLadder #CruiseVlog #CruiseLife #WildlifeWatching #TravelCouple #explorealaska Holland America Great Bear Rainforest Cruise, Great Bear Rainforest cruise 2025, Holland America Noordam, Ketchikan Alaska vlog, Creek Street Ketchikan, Dolly’s House Museum, Married Man’s Trail, Salmon Ladder Ketchikan, Saxman Totem Park, bald eagles Alaska, black bear sightings Alaska, waterfall Powerhouse Road, whale bubble feeding Alaska, Pinnacle Grill dinner Holland America, Flight Risks juggling act, Holland America entertainment, Ketchikan port day, Holland America cruise vlog, Alaska cruise series, travel couple vlog, real cruise vlog, Holland America new itinerary, cruise day 3 vlog, Great Bear Rainforest itinerary
