METRC SUCKS. And here is the perfect example, or metaphor, for how dysfunctional & unprofessional the METRC track and trace system is... that all cannabis operators in California are required to use. A few things to consider: California pays METRC $28million per year for the track and trace software and radio tag system. CA operators are forced to use 35 MILLION non-recyclable single use plastic plant tags per year.... and the RFID scanners do not even work! 35 million plastic plant tags = 142,000 pounds of non-recyclable single use plants tags imported into California every year (while California is proudly banning plastic straws and bags - but is paying $28 million in tax dollars to import in 71 tons of useless plastic tags into our farmlands) There are multiple other major issues with the track and trace system itself - and it's inability to catch MASSIVE DIVERSION of cannabis material into the illicit markets.... as well as poorly designed and inefficient software, with very slow performance, littered with redundant time wasting data entry.... But, just for a simple example of how dysfunctional the METRC system is, and their entire team, please check out this video. They can't even build a simple 'share your feedback' button in their software.... this pretty much sums up the incompetency of the entire METRC experience. California - we can do better. Let's ditch these clowns. METRC is an anchor around the neck of cannabis operators and the entire industry. There has to be a better system... Please ditch these clowns - thank you. peace
