This is an update of the video published October 3, with many important details added and corrected and published in larger size. The general description remains the same: This is a summary of funding campaigns and then restoration of the Covered Bridge across the South Yuba River at Bridgeport, CA, an effort extending from early 2013 to its completion in September, 2021. It is a cohesive and technically accurate summary of every important step in the process, but leaves out the myriad distracting details so important to the success of the project. The project was managed by Rod Tuttle at the California Department of Parks and Recreation. On the construction side the driving forces were bridgewright Tim Andrews and timber framer Will Truax, leading a small army of highly skilled workers who accomplished a wide range of tasks from foundation drilling, to concrete form construction and placement, bridge deconstruction while maintaining structural integrity to re-use as much of the original members as possible, to very challenging rehabilitation to a historically accurate bridge. Recording this entire effort, including coordinating thousands of photographs and video clips taken by teams of volunteer photographers over more than two years, was produced and directed by John Field. Summary videos, including this one, were made by Herb Lindberg. The most recent team of photographers is given at the end of this video. A complete record of these volunteers and their photographs is given in monthly and bimonthly summaries and videos accessible via the South Yuba River Park Association website maintained by Mike Baca, (https://www.southyubariverstatepark.o...
