Rising Insurance Costs + Limited Equity Cooperatives: Research from Our 2025 Gramlich Fellows

Ariella Amit, a Master of Urban Planning (MUP) student at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD), will discuss how community-based organizations (CBOs) are responding to the rising cost of property insurance for multifamily housing. Zack Lively, also a MUP at GSD, will share the experiences and lessons of CBOs that are developing limited equity cooperatives to preserve or create permanently affordable housing. The Gramlich Fellowship, which is co-sponsored by the Center and NeighborWorks® America, gives Harvard graduate students the opportunity to research promising approaches for addressing challenges related to affordable housing and community development.
