It's not just specsheet nerds over pricing cars by buying higher trims, lack of education pertaining to the car market has made it where people are relying on Tik Tok and other Social Media Influencers to tell them how much a car should cost. This results in people drastically overpaying for cars, as they see their favorite Clout Chasing Flexer pay well over sticker for cars. Remember, cars are a tax write-off to self employed influencers. This is why they can compete against each other for Markup, they want to be the first to create content on a new car. Sure it's still not smart and definitely the riskiest "investment" they could make (like seriously, just get a real personality and make videos based on that, instead of racing to buy a literal object for several $$ over, just because you want to be the first) but you know what?
