Polonaise ”Sind die Rüben rieb" from the "Notenbuch des Onkel Ewert" ("tunebook of uncle Ewert"), around 1870, Bartelshagen (Pomerania). A handwritten copy of the original was made by Fritz Jöde around 1930. The manuscript can be found in the “Archiv der Jugendmusikbewegung Burg Ludwigstein“. The complete sheet music can be found here: http://tanzmusikarchiv.de/?page_id=600 Played by Pascale Rubens ( diatonic Akkordeon) and Vivien Zeller (Violin) in G major (original key is D major). TradTanzMusik introduces melodies of traditional dance music of the German-speaking area from manuscripts of the 17th to 20th century. The goal is to present melodies from hitherto largely unknown dance music manuscripts and notebooks of dance musicians and teachers. We classify the resources by their place of discovery, informations found in the manuscripts themselves and the language used in them. The tunes were recorded and interpreted by the performers as they saw fit. The recordings are not intended to be seen as an universal version of the respective melody or to represent a "historically correct interpretation". The key played can differ from the key in the source. We would be very glad if these melodies would become popular again. Whether in sessions, for dancing, as band arrangement or whistled under the shower. For this reason, every video includes a slow version of the melody to make it easier to learn them. For every melody we indicate the source and if possible a way to obtain a copy of the source.
