Deforestation in Cambodia’s Prey Lang Forest reached an all-time record in 2021. Illegal logging operations have sprung up in conjunction with a newly established limestone mine within the forest, despite its protected status. While politically connected tycoons win concessions inside the protected area, Schneitec Group plans to run high-voltage power lines straight through the middle of the sanctuary.
