Captain save-a-Miata back at it with this beautifully forgotten 1993 Mazda Miata C-package I picked up from IAA (Salvage auction) in Baton Rouge, LA. I bought this car hoping it was in terrible condition and I'd find some reason to part it out. Luckily for it, the body is very straight, and most importantly NOT rusty. I have a very very strict set of guidelines I follow to determine if a Miata gets saved, or parted out. If it's not wrecked and not rusty, it gets saved. Everything else can be easily fixed even converting an automatic to a manual as required. So first things first, check fluids, give the car a quick once over. Throw a jump box on it and turn the key. Wouldn't you know it, it doesn't run. From this point, a series of very rudimentary diagnosis led me to replacing some parts using the Miatas in my salvage yard. This is not a super rare occurrence. We often get cars in that need less work than anticipated or the easiest path for the car is not to part it out, but to fix it using parts from our inventory. Often times, I feel like it's far less wasteful to put certain cars back on the road than it is to dismantle them. I really hope you enjoyed this short revival and rescue. As always I love all of the comments, feedback and even the criticism. Catch you on the next one! -Eric 00:00 Will this be the walk of regret? Do I really have time for this? 01:26 Initial look, checking fluids. Look at them rockers! 03:28 Hooking the jump box up, first attempt at starting? It cranks! 04:09 When the tach doesn't move, it's usually the ECU not seeing engine RPM. Normally at cranking, the tach will jitter a little. 08:44 Moved the car to my front lot for easier access, Time to feed it fuel to see if that's why it doesn't start 09:21 I SEE WHAT MUST BE DONE 12:14 Removing the fuel pump and OH MY GOD 13:27 Doing the wrong thing 14:07 THE WRONG THING WORKS?? 14:59 Goin to the back lot to get parts to fix the vac leak 17:04 Leak fixed, lifter noise engaged 23:55 Why come clutch no worky? 25:40 The great clutch bleeding procedure of 2025. 28:55 Goin back to the back lot to get a clutch master cylinder. 31:43 More clutch bleedin' 32:23 AH HA, Corrosion did it! 37:16 Pedal assembly needs some work 39:32 Lets give it a terrible wash, just to knock the dirt off 40:31 She's a little run away 43:54 Spin Dry 44:52 Summary
