Unboxing the WPL RC E1 1/16th Scale Tracked Vehicle

It's been a while coming, this release. Covid wrought havoc on the development cycle but at last it is here. Based on the Gaz 71, this diminutive tracked vehicle has seen comprehensive service out in the Russian wilds, seemingly as much in civilian service as military; almost the Ford Transit of the Steppes perhaps. The kit is almost RTR, you'll need two AAs for the transmitter, but there is life in the truck's battery so once installed you can have a play! I mean 'test drive to familiarise yourself with the controls'. Some assembly is still needed as they haven't added alot of the smaller components such as wheel trims and smaller, more fiddly bodywork features. All no doubt to keep costs down which is fine by me. You get pretty scale front lights, ie they're dim and yellow, but more lights are catered for with lenses in the correct position. Overall, it is the typically well executed scale replica but not licenced body with passable electronics. Its no TRX4 but for £51 it's a steal. This will be stripped, painted yellow and heavily ruined and I'll video bits as I go of course.
