Heeyyy! I didn’t expect to see you back here! If you’re lookin’ for the oldie, refer to this baby: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19... Welcome to the first (out of many) description edits of this soundtrack to reflect on my thoughts on the music nowadays. It was high time I change this damn thing, and lord almighty… I DO NOT FEEL PROUD OF THAT OLD DESCRIPTION. I was at my absolute peak PVZ2 phase back then, and having all of these tracks uploaded 100% reflected that and then some. As a direct result, I ended up kind of embarrassing myself even for my own standards with my sheer enthusiasm of the tracks. You know what though, cards on the table (have I said that before?) I am still rather fond of the amalgamation of different instruments from different genres, timelines, whatever. IT CAN WORK I SWEAR IT CAN and it reflects here immensely. I just kind wish modern day leaned a tad harder into it though because listening to it again… the variety only ever really shines in in the final wave track doesn’t it? The final wave still remains my favorite track in the game but I HAVE TO ADMIT, I JACKED IT OFF WAYYYY TOO MUCH in the old description LMFAOO. BUT it doesn’t change my opinion that Pvz2 still has probably the best mobile game OST of all time. Yes I am 100% sticking by that notion. So kids, if you’re listening to this, you got taste… The composer knew damn well what he was doing. (Peter stays winning.) I mean, compared to the upcoming PVZ3, PVZ2 does not have an overwhelming emphasis where EVERY SINGLE FUCKING TRACK NEEDS TO BE ORCHESTRAL AND THAT’S IT. That’s why I love this game’s music so much and I take my precious time to come back to it. Another game with an alright (not fantastic) soundtrack that comes to mind is like BTD6. It has a lot of samey sound tracks however, it’s deluxe soundtrack consists of remixes of its existing in-game songs (unlocked through the game’s trophy store) but even when listening to the different genres of songs it has to offer… something about it still falls flat to me. That being said, maybe the main appeal of the PVZ2 soundtrack to me ISN’T how it has all these genres… Perhaps it’s because the music and melodies it has to offer REALLY POP and stick with such genuine personality across all worlds and yeaahhhh sure BTD6 ain’t gonna make music for every map ever and the fact that PVZ2 definitely has that efficiency to use the same music over and over, but here’s probably a what I think is a little too warm (but not quite hot) of a take, BTD5’s and Bloon Monkey City’s music may be more repetitive than 6, but their soundtracks are far, FAR more memorable and full of their own soul than BTD6’s music ever has been. That’s so weird, because I think the same guy made the music for all 3 games. (With the exception of 6’s remixes.) Where was I? OH YEAH. Have you noticed particular small variations between 10:52 and 11:51 absences of the crash cymbal? (Of course that’s one of other examples in this video.) You can find stuff like that seldomly through my other ost uploads because these are I believe results of official beta variants of the song and I’m so happy I caught and uploaded them into the video because if I didn’t, it would’ve bothered me forever. People were more quick to notice the variants in Dark ages though with the MUCH more obnoxious kazoo but I’m glad I got them in regardless! Modern day as a whole really wasn’t handled gracefully and I’m trying not to focus too much on the gameplay aspects of the thing but it’s kinda hard to not acknowledge it when you have literally a remix of Grasswalk acting like the grand finale of the freakin’ game to really give the feeling of the series coming all down to this full circle moment, and I inflated that feeling a bit too much when I was absolutely obsessed with PVZ2 and now through a not so honeymoon lense, I can safely say… yeah the music rocks and is super appropriate for the ‘ending’ of this grand time trotting adventure in this defense game we all know and love since the first! The execution of the modern day world itself though does not reflect that hype ALL and it SUUUUUCKS. And now, the biggest question that everyone has but no one dare to ask out loud… Wtf is up with the squid sisters and the coughing guy at the end..? Funny story, I just added them to mix them because I thought it was cool and I really liked the sisters… That’s literally it. And the coughing guy that sings with them… That’s literally Murdoc Niccals from Gorillaz doing weird ass fucking sounds and I just so happened to have a found a sound clip of him that’s perfectly on beat for the song, but the part where he actually sings was genuinely pitched and timed by me. LMFAO. Thanks for reading up on this hodgepodge once more! Keep an eye out for any other possible edits… Albiet they might be pretty few and far inbetween… Toodleloo ya manbeast!
