The premise of this video is to create a YouTube-style landscape photography vlog as if it had been done in the mid 2000s. To accomplish this, I used an Olypmus E-300 for stills, which were then uploaded to my PowerBook G4 and edited using Apple's Aperture. Video was shot with a Canon Powershot G10, then edited in iMovie. All music was digitized directly from my vinyl collection, keeping the entire production within the PowerBook. I would also like to acknowledge a few anachronisms with this video. Obviously the music is newer than my roughly 2005 goal. I wanted to only use music that I directly had access to via physical media and, while these songs are definitely newer, they fit the aesthetic and spiritual principles of this project, like the more casual use of copywritten material vs. royalty-free music. To keep it more in-line with the goal of the project, I would be best to use music ripped from CD from the era, but that was outside of the scope of this initial project. If you have any questions regarding the cameras, computer, or software, please leave them in the comments and I will respond as I can. High quality versions of these photographs will be found on my Flickr here: https://flic.kr/ps/3kvvV1 I will update with direct links once these photos have been uploaded.
