Welcome to the Chicago ride series! The CTA "L" system is the most famous elevated railway system in the world, comprising of eight colored lines: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Brown, and Pink. The Purple Line is one of the more unique lines in the system. During off-peak hours, it is the shortest line in the system by length, running from Howard, the northern terminus of the Red Line, through the city of Evanston, and up to Linden Station in Wilmette. During rush hours, it operates as an express service bypassing most of the Red Line stations to Belmont, with one shared stop at Wilson. From Belmont, it operates with the Brown Line to the Loop, before going clockwise around it.
