South Korea and the Philippines are sitting down for their summit today in Manila. For more on this event and bilateral ties I have Steven with Japanese weekly news magazine Nikkei Asia here in the studio with me. Steven welcome back. I also have Jean with the daily The Philippine Star joining this session virtually from Manila. Jean it's a pleasure. 1) Steven, let's begin with the opening ceremony for the South Korean President Lee Jae Myung by Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr ahead of their summit today . 2-1) Jean, what are some of the important items on the summit agenda for the two leaders? 2-2) And Jean, what has been the focus of the media coverage in the Philippines about President Lee Jae Myung's visit? 3) Steven, this latest encounter between Presidents Lee and Marcos Jr is their second summit. In fact, it was here in South Korea where they first sat down. Do briefly remind us about that first face-to-face and its relevance. 4) Jean, the two countries celebrate 77 years of diplomatic relations this year. Keeping in mind the latest geopolitical events, what do you believe are the expectations within the Philippines amid its exchanges with South Korea? 5) And Steven, as I mentioned earlier, given the uncertainty over global trade and security, some have reaffirmed the importance of middle-power diplomacy to restore stability. Do you suppose South Korea and the Philippines can work together to this end? 6) Jean, what are the broader implications of partnership with South Korea for the Philippines? 7) Steven, this latest summit in the Philippines follows that in Singapore. How has President's Lee "pragmatic diplomacy" been serving his purpose of seeking stability with national interests at heart while navigating a volatile geopolitical landscape? 8) Jean, what do you believe are some of the follow-up stories that the media there in the Philippines will seek to cover in light of this latest summit between South Korea and the Philippines?
