Riew Anti-Dam President Strongly Opposes Siang Upper Multipurpose Project [ Osu Gamnoh ] ADI NEWS RIEW, 18 Dec: Osong Jamoh, the President of the Anti-Dam Riew, Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh, has expressed strong opposition to the proposed 12,500 Megawatt Siang Upper Multipurpose Project. In his statement, Jamoh also thanked those who have supported the cause. Many villagers from the Riew Women’s have voiced their concerns, stressing the potential negative impacts of the project on their ancestral land, livelihoods, culture, and environment. The local residents highlighted the risks to their agricultural practices, including orange plantations, and their way of life. They made it clear that they will defend their village and its interests at all costs, rejecting the proposed dam project.
