Wanted you to get an exact idea of how this bass will sound with no color and all the dynamics of various playing styles. Welcome back to our channel. Today, we have something special in store for all the bass players out there. We'll be diving into the world of the 5-string American Professional Series 2 Jazz Bass, exploring its features, sound, and overall performance. So, let's get started! The first thing that catches your eye is the sleek and classic design of the American Jazz Bass. Although not much has changed in this series 2 model, the small changes are indeed welcomed. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and it's evident that Fender has paid attention to every detail. Quality control seems to have taken a step forward now that the covid demand has slightly fallen off. The body is made of high-quality roasted maple for the neck, as well as a roasted pine body ensuring both durability and great resonance. I chose the roasted pine for that classic look but I have found that the lighter weight of the instrument is a welcomed addition. [Section 2: Electronics and Sound] Now, let's talk about the heart of any bass guitar—the electronics and sound. The American Jazz Bass Professional Series features a pair of updated V-Mod pickups, delivering that classic, unmistakable jazz bass tone with a bit of flair in the lower midrange. The sonic versatility is excellent, allowing you to achieve a wide range of tones suitable for various musical genres. [Section 3: Playability and Performance] Comfort and playability are crucial aspects to consider when choosing a bass guitar, especially for professional musicians. The American Jazz Bass Professional Series excels in this department. The neck profile feels incredibly smooth, allowing for fast and effortless playing. This jazz bass features a 34-scale length with a 9.5-inch radius. The nut width is listed as through fender as being 1.875. String spacing feels great and it doesn’t feel crowded at the nut end. The action is set up very well out of the box, with only minor tweaks needed to be up and playing in a hurry. My particular bass only needed slight tweaks to the neck adjustment and I found the action from the factory to be spot-on for my playing style. The fretboard features rolled fret edges with a C-type profile. The neck also features a super-natural satin finish on the back of the neck and allows for easy access all across the fretboard. The added heal cut is not as drastic as the American ultra’s, however, it is a welcomed feature as high fret access is improved. Overall this bass does not fight the player. It just does what you want it to do! [Section 4: Final Thoughts] Host: After spending quality time with the 5-string American Professional Series Jazz Bass, I have to say that it truly lives up to its reputation. The craftsmanship, sound, and playability combine to create an exceptional instrument that is worthy of any professional bass player's attention. My only complaint is the price tag. I feel this bass should be closer to around the 1700$ mark as I feel the 2 grand price point is a bit steep for a bass with standard electronics.
