For many transgender people, vocal care is an important part of the gender-affirming care that helps them feel more like themselves, improve their mental health and avoid gender dysphoria (the stress one experiences when they gender they identify with differs from their sex assigned at birth). At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, otolaryngologists and voice therapists partner to offer voice care as part of a comprehensive gender-affirming care program to help those who are transitioning find their voice.
