I begin the walk on the pedestrian path leading up to Chora, meeting a few friendly island cats along the way, before hurrying through the village to catch the sunset. As I wander through the whitewashed streets, I make my way past the main square and into the maze-like alleys that make Chora so unique. The walk continues uphill toward Panagia Gremniotissa, where the views open up just as the sun begins to set over the Aegean Sea. From there, I climb higher to the four hilltop churches, ending at Agios Nikolaos, where sunset slowly fades into a stunning blue hour, with church lights glowing against the deep blue sky. Although a few visitors gather to watch the sunset, the atmosphere remains calm and uncrowded — even more peaceful as night falls.
