Here are a couple of hand stitches for use with antron and blizzard fleece. The first is the Puppet stitch, aka the Henson Stitch. The second is The Baseball Stitch, which is similar to the stitch you see on the edge of baseballs. These stitches make your seams almost disappear (aka almost seamless). This is great for puppet making as well as props and blankets. If you have any questions, please ask them in the comments! Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/b... Hi once again fellow Makers! It is Lori here from Maker High and today we're going to cover a couple of different hand stitches that are related to a project that we're going to release next week. So today, we're going to cover the Puppet Stitch which is also known as the Henson Stitch and we're going to do the Baseball Stitch. So, first, we're going to be starting with the Henson Stitch. Now, basically, this is a really, really easy stitch. You're going to go into the fabric, and then out on one side… and then you're going to cross over and start in the same area on the other side. You're going to go in and come back out and then cross back over again. We're going to do about 3 or 4 of these stitches and then we are going to pull them taut and it's going to bring both pieces of the fabric together. Now, this is what most of the puppet makers use It's really good for hiding your seams on your puppet. And you can actually take your needle and fluff up the the little fibers that are in between to help hide it a little bit more. Now, the next stitch we're going to talk about is the baseball stitch. This is basically an alternative if you can't really get a hang of the Henson stitch or the Puppet Stitch You're going to go into your fabric. You're going to cross through the middle. You're going to come in through the other side and then go back and forth and back and forth. It's just like the stitch on a baseball. After you have a few stitches, you're going to pull it taut just like the other one, and then fluff up your seams and you are good to go. So, you'll notice in the video, that the thread I'm using is white, and the fleece I'm using is purple. That's basically because it's easier to see on video. But, when you go to do your own project, you're going to want to try and match your fleece and your thread as closely as possible. It doesn't have to be an exact match. That's fine. Then, the other thing you're going to want to do practice on some scraps first until you get the hang of it, and feel comfortable with it. And, then start sewing on your own project. Basically, that's about it. And if you haven't yet, subscribe down below because I'm pretty sure you're not going to want to miss the tutorial next week. I'm really excited about it. Hopefully you will be too! So, this is Lori from Maker High signing off, and I'll see you in the next video.
