System Log #1 — Cutting Two Cords and Staying Ahead of the Bins

This is a system log from the log yard. I’m out here cutting up wood so that when the bins sell out, I can bring the splitting crew in and keep the system moving without scrambling. The goal for the day was two cords, and I completed it. I talk about the chainsaws I’ve run along the way: starting with the Stihl MS 271 trying the Echo 590 and realizing I needed more power (and that it felt like a brick) upgrading to the Stihl MS 362, which changed how much wood I can realistically cut in a day I also had the dogs out with me, throwing the ball while I worked, and I shut it down when I got tired — no heroics, just steady work. This isn’t a tutorial. It’s documentation of how I’m running the firewood system and staying ahead of demand.
