This demo highlights motor vehicle detection using an ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) camera and shows how quickly you can search and act on results. Using our AI analytical interface, select an ANPR channel and pull vehicle events from the last three days. Because this example is based in Florida, the system typically reads plates from the rear of vehicles—so a front plate is most likely captured only for out-of-state cars. Once a plate is captured, you can create vehicle databases and apply the same concepts used in face recognition—like building an Allow List to trigger actions when a recognized plate appears. That can include opening a gate, garage door, or strike lock, and you can also use Allow Lists and Block Lists to generate security alerts for the administrator or user. Even when a plate isn’t captured, metadata search still delivers value. If you’re investigating an incident (ex: a black Toyota hitting a mailbox), you can search for every black Toyota that passed during a specific time window. The system logs key metadata, such as manufacturer badge, vehicle type, and color—and if the plate can’t be read (or it’s only visible on the front), it may be logged as “unknown” while the vehicle metadata is still recorded.
