Liliya Shvets works as a paramedic in the village of Triokhizbenka in the Luhansk region. She, along with several other nurses, serves people in five villages located along the demarcation line inhabited by over 1,500 people. The former district center -- Slovianoserbsk -- is in the occupied territory. As is a hospital with specialized professional doctors. In order to get to the new district hospital in Novoaidar, the residents of Triokhizbenka need to spend several hours on a bumpy road. And it takes the ambulance over three hours to reach the remote village of Lobacheve. The closest family doctor works 30 kilometers away and comes twice a month. The new episode of the Donbas reality check project looks at what is being a paramedic at the demarcation line like, and what medical care people in the frontline can count on. Donbas: Reality Check is a Hromadske project that compares politicians' statements about the Donbas with the reality of the region and the problems of the people living there.
