Lights and Shadows play a big part in how a 3d scene is perceived. Without shadows, the environment feels flat and fake. Just adding a few lights and shadows can greatly improve the visual feel of a scene. BabylonJS currently has 4 lights we can use to include the Hemispheric, Directional, Point and Spot. Each of these serves a unique purpose and include properties for color, intensity and direction to name a few. We'll be going over each light, show you how to implement gizmos to quickly test the location/rotation of a light within your scene. Along with that you'll learn how to implement shadows with a spotlight and some tips on improving the quality of those shadows.
