Part of the 'Ancient Faith of Britain: Orthodoxy in the Isles' series, this episode takes a look at Britain under Roman occupation - which lasted from at least A.D. 47 until A.D. 410 - and in the process introduces the lives of two saints important to Wales. St Aaron and St Julius were martyred at Caerleon, Wales in the mid- to late-third century. Caerleon, meanwhile, was a settlement of significance long before the Roman arrived, and became a major Roman military and trading instalment. Their deaths, though, make it a place of pilgrimage. Join me, Fr Jacob Siemens, Orthodox priest serving the Parish of St Theodore and St Teilo in Cardiff, Wales, as I take you on a journey across Britain - and Wales in particular - to learn more about how the Orthodox Christian Faith arrived here, about how it spread, and about some of its wonderful and inspiring saints.
