The presentation showcasing the outcomes of the “Think Globally, Act Locally: Inclusive Living” workshops. The programme consisted of intensive, hands-on sessions for students, aimed at designing truly inclusive and universally accessible housing that responds to the needs of diverse communities and goes beyond standard notions of accessibility. Working on a real site in Wrocław, participants developed proposals that addressed accessibility, sensory environments, neurodiversity, multiculturalism, gender inclusivity, and intergenerational design. The workshops were designed to encourage participants to think beyond conventional frameworks and create spaces where everyone can feel at home, regardless of age, ability, culture, or background. Their methodology rested on three pillars: learning from experts through lectures, experiencing through sessions simulating different needs in order to build empathy, and creating through collaborative design in interdisciplinary teams. The aim of the Final Presentation was to give students an opportunity to present their projects to a broad audience, including invited guests from universities, city representatives, and experts from the architectural sector. It offered a valuable platform for public visibility, professional networking, and enriching students’ portfolios with a real-world project. The event also created space for an open discussion about the future of inclusive cities, with the potential to spark conversations with city officials about possible development proposals. ✶ The event, as well as the “Think Globally, Act Locally: Inclusive Living” student workshop project, was organised by the architectural office PRP Poland and co-organised by the Wrocław Institute of Culture. ✶ The Wrocław Institute of Culture is a new kind of institution: one that supports niche, non-commercial initiatives; researches the cultural sector and develops the competences of its creators; builds networks of cooperation; and organises unconventional cultural events as a result of its experiments. The Wrocław Institute of Culture is a municipal cultural institution established by the Municipality of Wrocław.
