Elizabeth Boisson ON: How To Help Kids Through Sibling Loss ▶ • Elizabeth Boisson ON: How To Help Kids Thr... Elizabeth Boisson, the President and Co-Founder of Helping Parents Heal, has authored the insightful book "Life to Afterlife – Helping Parents Heal, the Book," drawing inspiration from a spiritually profound documentary by Craig McMahon. In her remarkable life, she has cherished four children, each with their unique journey. She fondly remembers Chelsea, who departed after just two days of life, and Morgan, who transitioned at the Base Camp of Mount Everest during a university exchange program at the age of nearly 21. Elizabeth also takes pride in her living daughters, Alix, currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health, and Christine, who recently graduated with a master's degree in art history. A pivotal moment in Elizabeth's life unfolded on October 20, 2009, when Morgan was receiving CPR on Mount Everest. She asked his roommate to place a phone by his ear, and during their conversation, she felt an enduring hug from within. This transformative moment revealed the eternal nature of love. A week later, she initiated a Facebook group and commenced hosting monthly parent meetings in Arizona. Three years later, she collaborated with Mark Ireland to establish the nonprofit support group, Helping Parents Heal, which has since blossomed into a thriving community with over 160 affiliate groups and 23,000 members across multiple countries. Elizabeth's worldly experiences encompass several years in New Delhi, India, during her formative years and a 15-year journey in France, where she studied and started a family. Her academic pursuits took her to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the Université Paul Valéry in Montpellier, France, where she also taught. Beyond her academic achievements, she is a certified yoga instructor who uses yoga as a healing tool to navigate the challenging journey of grief. Welcome to Moving Through & Beyond, a podcast dedicated to sharing inspired journeys of redefining your life, your vision purpose after immense hardship and grief. My guests share how they have personally overcome some of the biggest challenges anyone can ever expect to face. Loss of a loved one, chronic illness, poverty, mental illness and so much more. About Me: For the last 20+ years I've had a flourishing business career which has taken me around the world. Unfortunately, tragedy struck, and everything changed. I lost my husband, Ross, in 2014 and just three years later I lost my son, Cole, at age 26 - both to suicide. After these devastating losses I was faced with a choice. I had to find purpose through despair, or I had to throw in the towel. I chose purpose. While I enjoyed my business prior to losing Ross and Cole, I knew that this next chapter was calling me to rise to a new level that would make an impact on more people, on a larger scale. I want to help those who feel lost in this world without a purpose, and those who have lost someone tragically or unexpectedly and are now faced with the same decision I faced in 2017. I am on a mission to save 1 million lives from suicide by helping youth, adults, and parents decipher their life vision and purpose. I hope you'll join me.
