He fails to honor God publicly and deviates from His instructions, a decision that ultimately costs him dearly. For the first time, Moses finds himself on the receiving end of God's judgment, with no one to intercede on his behalf. Today’s lesson is both sobering and powerful, revealing God’s impartiality, even toward one of Israel’s greatest leaders. More importantly, it challenges us to examine how we respond under persistent pressure, especially when God has already provided a clear path to deliverance. And beyond that — is He truly coming again, and will we recognize the time when He does? When something truly important is on the horizon, we make preparations. We ready ourselves. We plan. We make sure nothing is left undone. So I ask you today — if meeting God is the greatest appointment of all, how are you preparing?
