12th May 2017 - The Coronation Exhibition at Glamis Castle is now officially open! After speeches by the Dowager Countess of Strathmore and Lord Airlie, the ribbon was cut, exactly 80 years since King George VI and Elizabeth of Glamis were crowned on 12th May 1937. Lord Airlie, along with The Queen, is one of the last surviving members of the 1937 Coronation procession and it was lovely to hear some of his personal memories of the historic day! The exhibition will be open daily until 29th October, entry to the exhibition will be included in regular castle admission ticket prices. This is the only exhibition of its kind so make sure you plan a visit to see these fantastic robes, dresses and coronets on loan from the Queen’s personal collection If you enjoyed this video please subscribe, comment and like!
