Oscar-winning Palestinian director Hamdan Ballal was attacked and beaten up by Israeli settlers in the West Bank and was later arrested, activists say. Just three weeks ago, Ballal was on stage in Los Angeles accepting an Oscar for the film he co-directed, No Other Land - a collaborative effort between Israeli and Palestinian filmmakers. James O'Brien is joined by international Jewish activist Raviv Rose, who described what occurred on the evening of the attack. Raviv Rose told James that the settlers 'slashed their tyres' and 'stoned the body' of their party's car. Raviv Rose recounts that Hamdan Ballal was 'pretty seriously injured' and describes seeing a 'substantial pool of blood on the floor'. Reports state that the Oscar winner was 'denied medical care, blindfolded, and zip-tied' before being arrested by the military.
