Inside the Story: New film tells inspirational story of Utah girl's life with rare disease

(KUTV) She only lived for 16 years, yet she inspired and uplifted people across the world. Now, Kennedy Hansen's story is going to hit the big screen. Kennedy grew up in West Haven, Utah. At nine years old she suddenly started having vision problems, followed by speaking and learning problems. Then came the seizures. Her family spent years trying to figure out what was wrong, until she was finally diagnosed at 15 years old with Juvenile Batten Disease. The disease essentially meant her brain was dying. She passed away on May 30th, 2014 at 16 years old. Kennedy's story touched the heart of Utah filmmaker, T.C. Christensen, who decided to make a film about her life.
