You don’t always need a full weekend—or a multi-day trip—to get something meaningful out of the outdoors. In this video, I spend a single day overlanding through the Jocassee Gorges, exploring forest roads and trails, stopping at overlooks with incredible views, and spending time near the water. I break for lunch on a quiet peninsula along Lake Jocassee, continue deeper into the gorges, and later cook a steak on the tailgate before heading home late. This trip is about slowing down, taking what the day gives you, and showing that one-day overlanding trips are a great alternative when life doesn’t allow for extended camping.
