My foremost objective in publishing this video is to point out what is (in my opinion) a major cause of the financial and economic insecurity felt by countless American households today. Everywhere, people are in debt, struggling to save money, and are barely able to manage their expenses. Meanwhile, political and cultural disunity seems to be distracting people from discussing the issue I speak of in this video. The issue that I identify and attempt to elaborate on is that our currency is steadily diminishing in value while we as working class Americans become more reliant on incomes (which are based on this currency) to meet the expenses entailed by a modern lifestyle. The result is that we incur a tradeoff. In exchange for the pursuit of money (which is worth less and less over time), we become more susceptible to borrowing money to compensate for what we lack in disposable income or savings. The consequence of this is that our entire society is overrun with debt. People rely on debt more than ever to sustain their lifestyles and all because we as a people are not economically independent, self-reliant, and self-sufficient. The greatest hurdle in combatting our obsession with debt is to educate ourselves. Not enough people grasp the extent to which the precarious financial and economic circumstances of working class Americans is directly related to the design of our monetary system and in a broader sense, our economy. According to many economists, in order for our economy to "grow", the proliferation of credit/debt must occur to stimulate spending/transactions. The cherry on top is that the process whereby our money is created and controlled is not even subject to the public/government as this function has been outsourced to private banks; the same kind which were responsible for the 2008 Financial Crisis. #debt #debtfree #serfdom #slavery #economics #finance
