Library: https://mnot.es/RayKsheets -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Koe no Katachi OST (Original Sound Track) #4 - lvs A Silent Voice OST (Original Sound Track) #4 - lvs The Shape of Voice OST (Original Sound Track) #4 - lvs 【聲の形】「lvs」を弾いてみた【カバー】 Composed by Kensuke Ushio -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Miscellaneous info: The sounds in this video came from only three things: Roland RP301 built-in sounds, Yamaha M1, with the unidentifiable background noise coming from something that's guaranteed to flip your head if I tell you so I'll just keep it a secret, it's more fun that way :3 At the very beginning, I showed the video one by one, in the same order of when the track is played, each colour-coded so they turn full-colour when the notes are pressed. I meant that to give you a sense of where each of the sounds are coming from, and as you can see, they come from different tracks but blend together so beautifully. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- About the soundtrack: This soundtrack is played during Shouya and Shouko's 6th grade, the moment when Shouko asked to Shouya if she could become friends with him. This is the 4th track on A Shape of Light album disk 1 by Kensuke Ushio for the movie Koe no Katachi. Another variation of this soundtrack is "lvs(var)" which has different instruments but has the same core melody. I can't stress enough how genius Kensuke Ushio is. The inclusion of both musical and non-musical sounds really makes the soundtracks alive and unique. I can't imagine the film with other soundtracks, that would just feel wrong. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- About this cover: I didn't do a cover of "lvs" before this because the sounds in the soundtrack are so similar that accurately identifying each one of them to be recreated by playing on an actual instrument is near impossible. But then three days before making this, I watched Under The Scope's analysis of Koe no Katachi, which by the way is one of the best anime analysis video I've seen. In that video he merged "lvs" and "lvs(var)" together, and it turns out to be really good. I thought to myself that I had to at least try, because it's my 2nd favorite soundtrack in the film and I've been wanting to cover it. His video pushed me into making this cover, so I owe him a thanks. Please see his video if you haven't, his channel is severely underrated.    • Видео   -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fun fact: I needed to play each track separately and had no idea how they would turn out after I mixed them together, and it turned out to be a near disaster. I almost dropped the project halfway during editing because the tempo was such a hot mess. It was already about 10 PM and the project was only about 20% done. Fixing the tempo of each track would take me a few additional hours and I was extremely tired because I worked on the cover right after driving for over 3 hours from Jakarta to Bandung. But then I decided not to drop the project, I had to finish this no matter what and just continue the next day, which is the best decision I've made. I got all the time to fix the tempo in all audio tracks, further tweak the audio effects to get it as close to the original as possible, and best of all, I got the idea to colour-code each video when they're shown together to turn from black and white to full colour when I press the notes. The extra editing effort makes the video much more alive.
