The D.C. Council cast its first vote 9-3 on the $3.7 billion RFK Campus redevelopment plan, with a project that could bring the Washington Commanders back to the District and completely transform nearly 200 acres of underused land in Ward 7. Another vote will take place on Sept. 17. Supporters called it a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate a neighborhood that’s been overlooked for decades.
