A Disney Halloween - October 30, 1981 CBS - Host Segments - Happy 41th Anniversary!!!! Super HTF

Finally, after 40 years fans can clear up all of this confusion surrounding this special thanks to a guy selling it on the Internet from Las Vegas. It was only 49 minutes and ran in an hour block and aired October 24, 2981 on CBS. The teaser erroneously refers to this as "A Walt Disney Halloween." The title sequence uses content from Trick or Treat with a different font than we've seen from the later broadcasts. The title song is just the Trick or Treat tune. The host was the magic mirror recycled from Snow White. The mirror is uncredited, is NOT Hans Conried but sounds like Thurl Ravenscroft or Paul Frees. The show intro shows footage from Fantasia, Skeleton Dance and the "pencil" animation from "Escape to Witch Mountain's title sequence for the "werewolves." The show starts off with The Legend of Sleepy Hollow then you watch the evil queen transform into the old witch then it dissolves into Trick or Treat to Prince Philip being freed and slaying Maleficent as the dragon and ends with Lonesome Ghosts. Ok not quite - the mirror bids us farewell. Then the credits just dissolve and not crawl. Plus you'll hear the CBS announcer say "The Dark Night of the Scarecrow" is up next which further validates the existence of this program.
