WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO, Frankie & The Fashions, (49th St. #34159) 1993 Flipside: Funny Girl Frankie & The Fashions hail from Philadelphia. In 1960 Frankie Lafaro, Bob Croce, Ronnie Ditro and Jackie Donadio were singing as Dino and The Dukes. They sang together until 1963 and never made a record. When they broke up Frankie and Bob formed Frankie and The Fashions with other friends Anthony Mauro and Harry Bedrosian. In 1964 they recorded FUNNY GIRL, written by Billy Carlucci and Pete Torres from Billy and The Essentials, for Mercury records and is the flipside of WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO. FUNNY GIRL was never released and the group broke up soon afterwards. Frankie reformed his group and has never stopped performing. Through the years Frankie has written and recorded a lot of great songs. He is known as the 'Frank Sinatra of Doo Wop.' Today, Frankie and The Fashions consist of members Frankie Lafaro, Jerry Tempesta, Matty Raimo and Tony Russo. They currently perform at many shows and private parties in the tri-state area. Last summer they performed at my home for about 100 guests. They sounded great and were a big hit!
