O último capítulo da nossa série pelos Açores leva-nos até ao Nordeste de Santa Maria, onde a serra desce suavemente até ao Atlântico e cada curva do trilho revela um pedaço da alma mariense. Partimos de Santa Bárbara e percorremos um percurso circular repleto de história, vistas amplas, geossítios, vinhas em socalcos e baías que parecem pintadas à mão. Ao longo de 14 minutos, acompanhamos a subida ao Covão da Mula, atravessamos a ribeira do Amaro, visitamos a Ermida de Nossa Senhora de Lurdes, contemplamos a Baía de São Lourenço e terminamos no impressionante Poço da Pedreira — um dos lugares mais icónicos da ilha. The final chapter of our Azores series takes us to the northeast of Santa Maria, where rolling hills meet the Atlantic and every turn of the trail reveals a new layer of the island’s soul. Starting in Santa Bárbara, we follow a circular route filled with history, sweeping views, geosites, terraced vineyards, and breathtaking coastal scenery. Throughout this 14 minute journey, we climb to Covão da Mula, cross the Amaro stream, visit the unique Chapel of Nossa Senhora de Lurdes, admire the stunning São Lourenço Bay, and finish at the iconic Poço da Pedreira — one of Santa Maria’s most striking geological landmarks.
