The region of Jacetania is the most northwestern part of the Aragonese Pyrenees and borders the Navarrese Pyrenees. It is divided into two provinces, Huesca and Zaragoza. The Aragon River flows through the region together with its tributaries. In addition, the Jacentania is divided into 3 valleys: The Western Valleys, the Aísa and Borau Valleys, and the Canfranc Valley. Its highest peak is Collarada with its 2,886 meters high where the Candanchú and Astún ski resorts are located. In this region of Jacetania you can still see bears in its mountains and valleys. And in many of their towns they have a dialect that makes them unique from the rest of the towns in the Aragonese Pyrenees. Finally, it is worth mentioning that occupying a large part of the territory of the Jacentanía region are the Western Valleys Natural Park, the Protected Landscape of the Fago and Biniés Foces, and also the protected landscape of Juan de la Peña and Monte Oroel.
