On May 20th, 2012, Brooklyn based 15 piece Space Funk big band, The MK Groove Orchestra performed one of the final concerts at the iconic Williamsburg loft space Studio BPM NYC and recorded the results... Bollywood Transfer was written in 2007 while trying to rip off one of MK's favorite surf rock tunes and the results turned out to be a bit more adventurous than your average surf tune when a bridge with a metal arpeggio emerged. The arrangement has been tweaked performance after performance until the version above was crafted, however, Bollywood Transfer didn't really attain it's full character until the band started breaking the fourth wall and playing in the audience in roughly late 2010. By the time the big held chords are reached two thirds of the way through the piece, it really feels like something has been accomplished. Supposed to be listened to while imagining Dhalsim from Street Fighter running through a train station, eluding his pursuers and stopping between train cars to do the Dhalsim dance. Really. No, really, it's art.... We hope you enjoy the musical journey with us and thank you for listening, watching and if you've made it this for, for reading also.
