From 1947 to today, state-led myths of a unitary national identity have created strife across South Asia. Zac Colah hopes to disrupt these myths with his new film, South Asia Bound: The Cost of National Identity. Through exclusive interviews with Salima Hashmi, Aasim Sajjad Akhtar, Taimur Rahman, and Furrukh Khan, the film brings archaic state narratives into the spotlight. South Asia Bound premiered December 8th, 2025 at the Cambridge Public Library. The premiere was organized in collaboration with South Asia Peace Action Network.
