Investigative journalist Steve Pennells says the Claremont Killings “horrified a country” and Perth certainly lost something when they occurred. Claremont Killer Bradley Edwards was – in December 2020 – given two life sentences for the murders of Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon; he is spending a minimum of 40 years in jail. The two women disappeared after separate nights out in the Perth suburb of Claremont between January 1996 and March 1997 - as did 18-year-old Sarah Spiers whose body has never been found. “I hate to use the cliché loss of innocence, but Perth certainly lost something when that happened,” Mr Pennells told Sky News host Peta Credlin. Sky News Australia will examine the longest-running and most-expensive criminal investigation in Australian history in a gripping new investigative documentary, ‘Catching the Claremont Killer: The Untold Story’. Premiering Thursday 4 February, Sky News speaks exclusively to the secret victim who, for the first time, breaks her silence detailing how she fought back and survived. Watch on Sky News on Foxtel or Sky News on WIN on Thursday 4th February at 8pm or 11pm AEDT / 5pm or 8pm AWST.
