This is one of my favorite children's shows... it is so wholesome and of course a cult classic! 😊💗 I have done daycare work for many years and even tho I am born in 1987 this show is something that i like to watch with the kids that I work with during the show's heyday and I left Sprout playing... Nina and Star really teaches good values and it is an all out adorable show. The morals the show teaches I believe is lost in so much of children's programming nowadays. Outside of my own nostalgia for the show I made this playlist to make the episodes easily accessible to the general public... who are now older looking for their childhood! ^__^ I believe the reason why Nina and Star episodes got lost is because it somewhat randomly aired in 2 to 3 minute spurts throughout the Sprout programming block without a traditional "start to finish" show format. It made it difficult to tape record it even back then... Some of these episodes were found on Archive tho I do not trust that platform with how vulnerable it is... 😐 When the hacking to Archive happened I know I had to preserve these shows. I also made this playlist so I can play it for the children I work with so the show is still doing its job for making children happy and teaching them right from wrong. The 1970s to early 2010s is the prime of good children's shows I feel. With Nina and Star it really gives me nostalgic 1990s vibes tho it came out in the late 2000s if I can recall... I think it is the aesthetic, show structure, character design and all that that made it look 1990s... not to mention it mainly aired alongside Thomas The Train, Bob The Builder, The Wiggles, you know that era. Nina and Star fits right in as a classic with them. 😊 Also Star reminds me of the SEGA character "Ristar" from 1995 which I played a lot in my youth when it was out. My favorite character is Lucy the Firefly... Lucy reminds me of myself as a Japanese woman... All quiet and smiley and I wink just like she does with those big eyes. Even my bf Al Balog saw the similarity between me and Lucy! (◔ ◡ ◔) 💗 I also find it adorable how Lucy is made out of a blue puff ball, purple tennis ball and orange yarn ball... It reminds me of how Nana of the late 1990s classic "Cyborg Kuro Chan" is a big eyed rabbit made out of a lamp body a screw and a lightbulb tail. 😄 That is my good thoughts on Nina and Star. To anyone watching I really hope u enjoy these shows and God Bless you all! Keep it wholesome out there! 👋😇
