Lu Xiangri, from Guangxi, is one of them. After escaping, he joined the rescue volunteer team and rescued nearly 200 people. Later, he was wanted by the gangsters with a bounty on his head, and the rescue team was forced to dissolve after being implicated. He also offended local lawmakers and had to flee. Recently, he came to Hong Kong for an exclusive interview with HK01, detailing his experiences over the past year. He does not have any catchy phrases or emotional expressions and even speaks a bit awkwardly. He speaks lightly about his experience of rescuing people and feels it is only natural to help others. He plans to first visit his family in Guangxi and then continue his rescue work. He also candidly states that he has already thought about the worst-case scenario: "Either I will be arrested or I will be killed."
