#deadmall Opening in Marshfield, Wisconsin in 1979 originally as Northway Mall. With 36 stores, including Prange's (later Younkers), Kmart, and JCPenney as anchors. It was a product of local business owners who wanted to capitalize on the growing popularity of indoor shopping centers and boost tax revenue. The mall experienced periods of both success and challenges, including a major expansion in 1994 and the departure of Kmart in 2002, which impacted the mall's occupancy. The mall underwent a name change to Shoppes at Wood Ridge in 2013 before becoming Marshfield Mall. In recent years it has gone through massive redevelopment which sadly has taken a majority of the mall corridor with it. Sad to of not been able to see the cool center piece clock. I feel like this place would of been like walking through Concord Mall in Elkhart, Indiana back then, another gorgeous 70s mall that is sadly no more.
