Hello petrolheads and welcome! 👋 I spent my Saturday (November 1st, 2025) soaking up the pure automotive elegance at the St James's Motoring Spectacle on London's historic Pall Mall, and trust me, it was absolutely SPECTACULAR. We're talking 120-year-old pioneer cars parked right next to million-dollar hypercars. My mind (and camera) almost exploded! 🤯 🚗 Who and What We Saw (Cars & Celebs): The lineup was insane! Here are a few highlights from the legendary street of Pall Mall: Celebrity Spotting: The absolute highlight for me was spotting the legend himself, Edd China! As a famous mechanic and presenter from shows like Wheeler Dealers and Garage Revival, Edd is known for his incredible engineering skills and love for all things automotive. It's awesome to see him supporting an event that celebrates the history and future of cars. (If you managed to talk to him, add a quick, funny anecdote here!) The Oldest & Newest: We saw pre-1905 veterans (like the stunning Concours winner 1901 Georges Richard) getting ready for the London to Brighton run, side-by-side with modern hypercar royalty like the Koenigsegg, Lotus Evija, and a jaw-dropping Ferrari Daytona SP3 making a stylish exit. Motorsport Icons: The event paid tribute to the 75th anniversary of Formula 1 with real Ferrari F1 and Williams F1 cars. We also saw rally legends like the rare Lancia Delta S4 and the BTCC-winning Hyundai i30 Fastback. Anniversaries: Shout out to the VW Polo and Lotus Esprit for celebrating their 50th anniversaries! Plus, a peek at the electric future with the new Alpine 290 and Renault 5. 📜 A Little History Lesson (The Spectacle's Roots): The St James's Motoring Spectacle is a relatively new, free, one-day event organized by the prestigious Royal Automobile Club (RAC). It's staged on Pall Mall, right outside the RAC's historic Clubhouse, usually on the Saturday before the world-famous RM Sotheby's London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. The event, which started in 2024, essentially replaced the former Regent Street Motor Show and the Concours d'Elegance for veteran cars. Its main goal is to showcase the entire timeline of motoring—past, present, and future—from the Victorian age all the way to cutting-edge sustainable technology. It truly has quickly become London's classiest and most unique car show, bringing museum-level history right onto the street!
